It’s not really what you want to hear from your manager ahead of facing a team, you want to hear them talking with passion and hope, rather than basically writing off their chances which is pretty much what Farke is doing.
Whether he believes he has no chance or not, you have to breed some sort of hope and try to motivate your plays and fans by offering belief at least.
Farke on facing Chelsea
In words picked up on X today, Farke said on drawing Chelsea:
“We are not the favourites. The win [against Chelsea] was at a packed Elland Road. We are just promoted, and don’t have their resources. We need an extraordinary day and a bit of luck, but we all started in football to achieve unrealistic goals.”
Reverse psychology maybe!?
In other news today…
After recent injury struggles, Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer says he is feeling much better now in news that will be very nice to hear for Blues fans. Palmer wore the captains armband for the club at the weekend, and they need him fit and firing.
Palmer also says the 7-0 thrashing of Port Vale on Saturday night will give everyone a much needed lift going into a crucial run of games for the rest of the season.
