Aikmantold Clarence E. Hill Jr. that Miami was smart to hire him. He explained that they knew he had “information that they don’t have or can’t get.”
“I’ll continue to help in ways that are yet to be defined,” Aikman said about his role. He started by helping them find a new head coach and general manager.
He stays on the Miami payroll while calling games for thirty-two teams. This mirrors how Tom Brady works with the Raiders. It seems the league is allowing a new trend.
Aikman admitted he always wanted to run a team. He felt he knew what a winning locker room should look like. Personal life issues stopped him from doing it.
“And knowing that I have information that they don’t have or can’t get. And I think they were smart in taking advantage of that — whether it was through me or through somebody else,” Aikman noted.
The Dallas legend is no longer hiding his bias. He wants Miami to win big. “I will say I’m pulling for the Dolphins,” he told the reporter during the interview.

“I don’t have the influence, if you will, that Tom seemingly has there,” Aikman admitted. Still, being in the room during the draft is a major advantage for Miami.
