The NFL community is looking forward to how the league moves after the Seattle Seahawks’ Super Bowl LX win over the New England Patriots. But as the offseason is now heading to the 2026 NFL draft, real-world politics are crashing into the “football bubble.”
The Strait of Hormuz crisis and the standoff with Iran have indeed pushed fuel prices to record highs, impacting everything from team travel logistics to the daily lives of fans. It’s a rare moment where the “football bubble” is being noticeably affected by global geopolitics.
And since it is affecting everyone, NFL reporter Josina Anderson couldn’t hide her frustration following President Donald Trump’s recent Easter Sunday morning message.
NFL reporter Josina Anderson calls out Donald Trump’s Easter Sunday rant
On Easter Sunday, Trump posteda strong message on Truth Social directed at Iran over the blocked Strait of Hormuz. In the fiery post, he warned of strikes on power plants and bridges starting Tuesday if the waterway didn’t reopen, used multiple expletives, and closed with the phrase “Praise be to Allah.” It was signed “President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

Emmy-winning NFL insider Josina Anderson, who rarely steps outside football coverage, shared a screenshot of the full post on her X handle, and her caption holds frustration.
“Here is the Easter Sunday morning message from the president of the United States, Donald J. Trump,” shewrote, showing her disappointment with Trump’s language and timing.

However, since Trump does not usually drop profane messages on his X handle, some folks immediately questioned the post’s authenticity, speculating it looked AI-generated or out of character for a holiday message.
Others, however, defended the blunt warning amid reports of U.S. pilot rescues from Iranian territory and the strategic importance of the strait for oil routes. Anderson did not add further comment, letting the screenshot speak for itself.
Anderson’s career is defined by her deep roots in the league. With over 25 years of experience, she broke ground as the first female NFL insider at both ESPN (2011–2020) and CBS Sports (2022–2024).
A two-time Emmy Award winner and former Junior Olympic gold medalist, her reputation was built on breaking contract extensions, injury updates, and high-profile player interviews for nearly three decades.
Today, she runs her own platform, the Exhibit News Network. Her work almost always stays between the lines, focusing on depth charts and salary caps rather than world events. Politics isn’t her usual territory.
But the weight of this global crisis changed that. By speaking out, she made it clear that the current situation is too big for even the most dedicated football insiders, who can no longer stick to sports.
