Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold went from the podium at the Super Bowl to the altar.

Darnold, who led the Seahawks to their second championship on Feb. 8, married fiancee Katie Hoofnagle on Friday, April 3. Several NFL stars and celebrities attended the ceremony, including Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his wife, actress Hailee Steinfeld.

The wedding came one day after Steinfeld announced the birth of a baby daughter in her Beau Society newsletter.

“Hailee and Josh were so sweet on the dance floor, clearly having a blast,” a source told People magazine. “People were politely congratulating them on their baby girl, and they were very kind,”

According to the New York Post, San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey and his wife, Olivia Culpo, and Seahawks receiver Cooper Kupp and his wife, Ann Marie, also attended the wedding. People reported Niners receiver Christian Kirk was there, as well.

Darnold and Hoofnagle, a University of South Carolina alum, got engaged in July. The couple went public for the first time in April 2023 when Hoofnagle posted about the relationship on Instagram.

Darnold enjoyed a remarkable career turnaround in the past two seasons. Drafted No. 3 overall by the New York Jets, he turned in a 21-35 record in six seasons with the Jets, Carolina Panthers and San Francisco 49ers. Then, in 2024, Darnold led the Minnesota Vikings to a 14-3 record, although the team lost in the wild-card round of the playoffs.

This past season, Darnold joined the Seahawks as a free agent. He embarked on another 14-3 season and a second Pro Bowl selection. This time, though, Darnold enjoyed postseason success, carrying Seattle past the New England Patriots, 29-13, in Super Bowl LX.

Immediately after the Super Bowl win, Darnold was captured discussing the upcoming wedding in a video shared on the NFL’s Instagram account.

“I was just telling [NBC broadcaster] Maria Taylor, the one who interviewed me, I was like, ‘yeah, is it weird that I’m thinking about the wedding right now and that it’s in a month, and I’m like, frickin, I’m excited, but also just, it’s a lot, we got a lot to do. But, it’s exciting stuff,” Darnold said.
