Bears' aggressive trade idea for top 11 pick would be for one of three pass rushers

The Chicago Bears have finally turned the corner and look like legitimate Super Bowl contenders. But, they still need to make a few moves to ensure they're in a good spot for 2026 and beyond.

While Caleb Williams and the offense look good, the team desperately needs better pass-rush production from the edge spot. And if they wanted to, they could get very, very aggressive in the 2026 NFL Draft.

ESPN's Bill Barnwell proposed a trade idea that would have the Bears moving up from No. 25 overall to No. 11 with the Miami Dolphins using multiple second-rounders to land one of three possible edge rusher additions.

Bears trade idea lands 11th pick for one of three players

"...I wonder if Ryan Poles and the Bears might try to be more aggressive," Barnwell writes. "This would really make sense only if one of the top pass-rush prospects, such as David Bailey, Ruben Bain Jr., or Arvell Reese, fell out of the top 10."

In this trade idea from Barnwell, the Bears would send the 25th overall pick, along with the 57th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, plus a 2027 second-round pick, to the Dolphins for the 11th, 151st, and 227th picks plus a 2027 fifth-rounder.

It's an aggressive move for the Bears, but it would actually make a lot of sense if they could make this package work.

They would still have a 2026 second-rounder thanks to their DJ Moore trade, which would give Chicago the option to take multiple players early in this year's draft class.

But, if they could somehow find a way to come out of the 2026 draft with one of Ohio State's Arvell Reese, Texas Tech's David Bailey, or Miami's Ruben Bain Jr.

If any of those top edge rusher prospects were to fall out of the top-10, it would be a surprising result. Chicago finding a way to get one of those players would be a massive coup for their defense.

Montez Sweat and Dayo Odeyingbo aren't good enough. They could get a decent prospect at 25th overall, but if they could get one of Bailey, Bain, or Reese, it would be something too hard to pass up.

Barnwell's trade idea is a very aggressive one, but it's a move that Poles and Ben Johnson should absolutely do if they could. One of these edge rushers would be perfect for Chicago, and barring such an aggressive move, there's no chance they'd land one of them.
