Arsenal will hope to return to winning ways when they face Portuguese side Sporting CP in the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final tie on Tuesday.
The Gunners suffered a shock 2-1 defeat against Championship side Southampton in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Saturday, having been beaten 2-0 by Manchester City in the Carabao Cup final in their previous outing.
Mikel Arteta’s side remain nine points clear at the top of the Premier League table, though, and are among the favourites to win the Champions League.
Ahead of their visit to Lisbon, it has emerged that Arsenal are leading one of their Premier League rivals in the race to sign a Bundesliga attacker.
According to CaughtOffside, the north London side have an advantage over reigning Premier League champions Liverpool in the battle to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande this summer.

The report claims that the Ivory Coast international is intent on joining a club competing in the Champions League if he does depart his current side this summer.
Diomande, 19, joined Leipzig from Spanish side Leganes last summer and is enjoying a fine debut season in Germany.
The teenager has so far scored 11 goals and registered eight assists in 30 matches across all competitions, and his impressive performances have attracted the attention of some of Europe’s biggest clubs.
It is claimed that the winger could still stay put in Leipzig and sign a new deal with the Bundesliga side, particularly as they are in contention to qualify for next season’s Champions League.
If he does depart, though, the Gunners are currently better placed than Liverpool to land the Ivorian during this summer’s transfer window.
Diomande is under contract at Leipzig until the end of the 2029/30 campaign, having signed a long-term deal when joining the club last summer.
