New York Giants All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence has requested a trade, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. The 27-year-old will not participate in the team’s offseason workout program, which is scheduled to begin on Tuesday.
Schefter reports that Lawrence and the Giants have spent the past two offseasons trying to negotiate a contract, but there has not been any progress.

The Wake Forest product was selected 17th overall by the Giants in the 2019 NFL Draft and has recorded 30.5 sacks and 185 solo tackles over 109 career games. He played all 17 games last season but recorded just 0.5 sacks and 31 combined tackles, both career lows.
He has two years remaining on a four-year, $87.5 million rookie extension he signed in 2023 that carries a $26.9 million cap hit in 2026.
Lawrence is a three-time Pro Bowler and a two-time Second Team All-Pro (2022, 2023).
