Dexter Lawrence II Reportedly Disgruntled with Giants Over Lack of Contract Extension

The New York Giants are set to begin their off-season program on Tuesday, but it looks like a key member of the team will not be taking part and, in fact, wants out.

That would be defensive lineman Dexter Lawrence, who, per a report by ESPN insider Adam Schefter, has grown frustrated with the lack of progress on negotiating a new contract that reflects his worth.

The contract negotiations, according to Schefter, have been ongoing over the last two years, bringing the team’s 2019 first-round draft pick to a point in which he has two years remaining on his current deal.

Lawrence, who is one of the longest tenured members of the Giants, will skip the team’s offseason program, which starts on Tuesday. Schefter also reported that Lawrence has requested a trade.

This is a developing story. More to come.
