Marco Palestra’s stock has grown incredibly over the past few months, and the Atalanta loanee is attracting attention from Newcastle United, Arsenal and Tottenham.

Sport Witness have previously covered Liverpool’s interest in the full-back.

The Reds attempted to land him from Atalanta last summer but the youngster joined Cagliari on loan instead.

His progress is going superbly well, capped off by his showing for Italy against Bosnia last week. That came in a losing cause but Palestra’s impact was clear to see at right wing-back as he also made runs inside from that position.

With his valuation now having grown, the idea of a move to England is gaining traction.

Three clubs monitoring transfer situation

TuttoSport report that it is increasingly difficult that Palestra stays in Italy.

This is largely due to his valuation, with Atalanta demanding over €50m to let him depart in the summer.

The Bergamo club are also expecting an international auction, with Newcastle United ‘hottest’ in pursuit of the versatile full-back.

Beyond the Magpies pursuit, Arsenal and Tottenham are also in the mix. The two clubs have scouted him multiple times but they appear to be behind Eddie Howe’s side right now.

Even Barcelona are interested and they sent a scout for Cagliari’s game against Napoli two weeks ago to specifically watch Palestra.

They are also expected to continue to monitor him for the next few weeks.

Atalanta unlikely to be easy negotiators

Historically, Atalanta have always proved to be a difficult club to deal with in the market. They are experts at making massive sales and as evident from their handling of Ademola Lookman, they don’t budge from their stance either.

As of now, they have no reason to part ways with Palestra. If they qualify for Europe, they can easily keep him and use him regularly next season.

This would increase the 21-year-old value, causing problems for Newcastle United, Tottenham and Arsenal. That is why the three clubs will have to come up with something special in the summer.

Palestra can play on either side and can use both feet equally well. This makes him a rare profile and someone clubs should definitely go for.
