The NFL’s 2026 off-season has already witness some massive changes throughout the league. Trades, free agency, and coaching changes has already reshaped numerous teams going into the up coming season.
However, it would appear that there could be one more massive trade on the way.

NFL Sees 2x All-Pro Demand Trade From The New York Giants
John Harbaugh’s first year with the Giants might include a massive trade as 2x All-Pro Dexter Lawrence has requested a trade from the team. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter:
Giants All-Pro defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence has requested a trade and he will not be participating in the team’s off-season workout program that opens Tuesday.
Lawrence and the Giants have been through two off seasons attempting to negotiate a contract reflecting his value to the Giants over the last three years, but there has not been any progress, per sources.
Lawrence is currently under contract through the 2027 season and has a cap hit in 2026 of $26 million. However, he will lose $500,000 if he chooses to not partake in off-season workouts.

Lawrence has spent his entire seven year career with New York and has established himself as a leader on their defense. In those seven years he has accounted for:
109 career games (102 starts)
30.5 career sacks
341 total tackles (185 solo tackles)
1 career interception
15 passes defended
5 forced fumbles
40 tackles for loss
103 quarterback hits
It will be interesting to see if there is a contender in the NFL who is willing to make an offer that the Giants can’t refuse. With the draft coming up, it is likely a trade will involve a pick or two from this year (if a deal gets done).
