New York Giants: Boost O-Line Depth, Land 68-Game Starter

The New York Giants need to address the interior offensive line, particularly at right guard, with a starter still testing free agency. Greg Van Roten remains unsigned through the first month of free agency after spending the previous two seasons as the starting right guard, with 34 starts and playing 100% of the offensive snaps during that span. Aaron Stinnie is currently the projected starter, while Evan Neal is the top backup, which is far from ideal.

According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2, the Giants have signed Lucas Patrick to a one-year deal. He is on his fifth team, entering his eleventh year in the league. The 32-year-old Patrick is a versatile offensive lineman capable of playing all three interior offensive line positions, having logged 1,088 snaps at left guard, 2,009 at center, and 1,388 at right guard, per PFF. He has appeared in 118 games with 68 starts, including the playoffs.

The Cincinnati Bengals signed Lucas Patrick to a one-year contract last March. He won the starting right guard job in training camp before suffering a calf injury in Week 1 that caused him to land on injured reserve and miss the next six games. Upon returning, Patrick lost the starting job and was relegated to the reserve offensive line role, logging just seven offensive snaps through five games since then.
