Mock drafts hint at interesting Chiefs offseason plan

We are seeing mock drafts come out thick and fast as the NFL Draft approaches, and for the Kansas City Chiefs, having two first-round selections means the franchise can go in any direction it wants.

We have seen corner Mansoor Delane be mocked to Kansas City regularly, which makes sense given the need at corner following the departures of Trent McDuffie and Jaylen Watson.

But we have also seen the Chiefs go offense, with tight end Kenyon Sadiq mocked to Kansas City.

And here comes CBS Sports' Pete Prisco, who, in his latest mock draft, has Kansas City going offense, but for USC receiver Makai Lemon.

"They need to get some juice on the offense and this kid can help with that. The Chiefs could also consider more defensive help," Prisco wrote.

Do Chiefs need offensive weapons?

I think so.

With the Chiefs' tight end position, the selection of Sadiq makes sense, and as far as a receiver goes, after Rashee Rice, Tyquan Thornton, and Xavier Worthy, who does Patrick Mahomes have to throw to?

While I'm not sure about a receiver taken in the first round, the Chiefs, who pick at the end of the first round at No. 29, could find some value, and if Lemon is on the board, getting him into Andy Reid's system could be a good move.

The Chiefs have done plenty of work this offseason, and it appears that taking an offensive player in the first round isn't out of the realm of possibility.
