Browns’ Myles Garrett offseason program absence raises eyebrows around team

Cleveland Browns superstar Myles Garrett will not be in attendance for the team's voluntary offseason program.

The Browns' offseason program begins on Tuesday, and Garrett has been a no-show more times than not.

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport shared that Garrett's no-show comes as no surprise.

"Myles Garrett not showing up does not feel to me to be significant," Rapoport said. "Mainly because this is what he does. If you are the best defensive player in the NFL, and you have a way you like to unwind after the season or get ready for the next season. I would say it makes sense for a player like Myles Garrett to do that."

Myles Garrett’s Future in Cleveland Clouded by Trade Speculation

While this is what Garrett has been doing more times than not in his soon-to-be 10-year career, this season is a bit different.

If he continues to be absent from the team, it will certainly raise some eyebrows. There have been some rumors about his future with the Browns.

Garrett requested a trade from the team at the start of the 2025 offseason. Nothing materialized on that front, and the 30-year-old went on to have arguably the best season of his career.

Garrett has expressed a desire to leave a rebuilding situation for a contending team, noting his frustration with losing seasons. Last season was a disappointing season for the Browns, something that Garrett is unfortunately used to.

In his Browns tenure, he's posted a 54-79-1 record since being drafted by the team in 2017.

Things have not been pretty for Garrett when it comes to winning. If that continues to be a trend for Garrett in Cleveland, it will be more likely that he is moved sooner rather than later.

Garrett is in the prime of his career and has already accomplished nearly everything on an individual level. At this stage, players of his caliber often shift their focus toward winning and competing for championships rather than adding to their personal accolades.
