Arsenal want to add to their forward options in the summer, with Bayer Leverkusen’s Christian Kofane now identified as a target.
And their interest has been verified by the player’s agent, who has confirmed that the Gunners are in pole position to sign him.
They are not alone. Several other Premier League clubs have been monitoring his situation, whilst Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on the teenager.
Kofane recently impressed playing against Arsenal in the Champions League round of 16.
Although he is valued at £35million, Leverkusen are reported to be wanting almost double that before parting with one of their brightest young prospects. Kofane has scored seven goals and provided eight assists for Leverkusen this season, following his switch from Spanish second division outfit Albacete less than 12 months ago.
Still just 19 years old, he has been capped six times by Cameroon, and has scored two international goals for them.
