Instead, his tenure has been marked by inconsistency on the pitch and distractions off it. Sources close to the squad reportedly describe Garnacho as “frustrated” with the tactical demands placed on him, while coaching staff have grown concerned about his attitude and adaptation to life in London.
Phillips notes that internal discussions have already taken place over whether to move him on in the upcoming window. Chelsea are believed to be exploring loan options as well as permanent deals, depending on the market response. While no club has officially registered interest, several European sides are said to be monitoring the situation closely.
A decision could be accelerated by Chelsea’s ongoing squad restructuring. With the team struggling for consistency and financial fair-play considerations looming, the club is expected to scrutinize every underperforming asset ahead of the summer.
Why Chelsea Need to Cut Ties Now
The club’s rebuild depends on players fully buying into the manager’s philosophy. Garnacho’s reported frustration with tactical discipline stands at odds with the system the Blues are working to implement. A young squad cannot afford internal dissonance.
CHELSEA’s wing positions are already competitive. Several players have shown greater consistency and professionalism, and keeping an unsettled figure in the dressing room risks disrupting momentum.
Financial pragmatism matters. Offloading a high-value asset who is unlikely to become central to the project could free space for reinforcements better suited to the club’s evolving structure.
A player of his talent requires an environment built around his strengths — something Chelsea, at this stage of their rebuild, cannot realistically offer.
