Enzo Maresca has broken a three-month social media silence with his first post since bidding farewell to Chelsea, dropping a suggestion that a return to management could be on the cards.
The former Blues manager left the club on New Year's Day, with Liam Rosenior stepping in as his successor. Nearly a week after, he shared a parting message on his official Instagram account, before going quiet online.
Exactly three months after that farewell, the Italian has resurfaced. Posting snapshots from a family getaway to the Maldives with his wife and four children, Maresca wrote: "Enjoying the half term...Time to recharge!"
The upload received 'likes' from Chelsea's Robert Sanchez, Trevoh Chalobah and Levi Colwill.
The fourth image in a series of six reveals his workspace, complete with stationery and tactical football manuals, suggesting he remains immersed in studying the game, potentially readying himself for a managerial comeback when opportunity knocks.
Speculation persists around Maresca potentially rejoining Manchester City. Reports indicate he is being considered by City as a prospective successor to Pep Guardiola, should the Spaniard depart the Etihad.
His previous stints at City included managing the development squad and serving as Guardiola's right-hand man, spanning 2020 to 2021 and 2022 to 2023. Maresca's post arrives only weeks after he made an uncommon public outing since his Chelsea departure.
He was spotted in the director's box during Leicester City's Championship encounter with Norwich City at the King Power Stadium. Assistant managers Willy Cabellero and Danny Walker were also present.

The trio had previously guided the Foxes to Championship promotion in the 2023/24 campaign, before moving to Chelsea the subsequent summer.
Speculation had emerged that Leicester had sounded out the Italian regarding the managerial vacancy prior to the interim appointment of Gary Rowett, who has been charged with steering the club clear of Championship relegation before the season's conclusion.
Throughout his Chelsea tenure, Maresca oversaw 92 fixtures across all competitions, securing 55 victories, 16 draws and 21 defeats.

He delivered both the UEFA Conference League trophy and the Club World Cup to Stamford Bridge, though his relationship with the club's hierarchy became increasingly strained.
The choice to sever ties with the manager has subsequently been challenged by both Enzo Fernandes and Marc Cucurella.
