Luka Vuskovic has confirmed he expects to return to Tottenham Hotspur this summer following a highly praised loan spell with Hamburger SV — despite mounting interest from rivals Chelsea.
Speaking after Hamburg’s final match of the season, the defender revealed his intention to rejoin the north London side for pre-season, stating that he “feels ready” to fight for a place under the current Spurs coaching staff. Vuskovic has been a standout performer in Germany, earning plaudits for his composure, physicality, and maturity well beyond his age.
His performances have inevitably drawn attention from across Europe, with Chelsea reportedly tracking his situation closely as they continue their search for elite young defensive talent. However, sources close to Vuskovic insist the player remains focused on Tottenham, where he believes a clear pathway into the first team exists.
Tottenham signed Vuskovic as part of their long-term recruitment strategy, viewing him as one of the most promising defenders of his generation. “In football, you never know,” Vuskovic said, as quoted by the Evening Standard. It could happen next year, or in ten years. I don’t want to promise anyone anything.
“After this season, I’ll be a Tottenham player again. I have a contract there until 2030.”
