It takes him to the end of the next season, with the club holding an option to extend it by another year.

Jason Wilcox creates his ideal Man Utd player
Wilcox has come under a lot of criticism due to how quickly and brutally Ruben Amorim’s spell at United came to an end.
However, one aspect where Wilcox and Ineos do deserve credit is their squad planning, be it buying or selling players, or extending current contracts/letting them run out.
Maguire’s extension is in the same vein, as it’s a masterstroke in squad management due to the reported pay cut he’s taking, and the small length of extension due to his age.
