The Man Utd youngster has had to wait to be given a chance after injury.
Manchester United youngster Toby Collyer received a standing ovation after he produced a 'superb' performance on his first full start for loan club Hull City. The 22-year-old left United on loan when he joined West Brom last summer, but saw the move cut short in the January window after injury had limited him to just 12 appearances, of which only three were starts.
Collyer instead opted to join high-flying Hull, but suffered another injury setback shortly after his debut when he suffered a hamstring strain in training. The United loanee missed another month of football before he was slowly reintegrated with three substitute appearances and two matches as an unused sub.
Despite moving to the North East in the final days of January, it was not until Easter Monday that he was able to make his first start for the club. The good news for Collyer is that he made up for lost time with an excellent performance that showcased his untapped potential.

Collyer shines on first Hull City start
Toby Collyer was a surprise inclusion in the Hull City starting line up when they hosted Championship leaders Coventry City on Monday night. The Manchester United loanee was named in central midfield for the huge clash, as Hull strengthened their play-off hopes with a goalless draw against the team at the top of the table.
In his 74 minutes on the pitch, Collyer completed 30 of his 38 attempted passes, enjoyed 50 touches of the ball, and made three successful dribbles. He also made three tackles, eight ball recoveries, and won seven ground duels. It was a performance that showcased his huge talent as a defensive midfielder, with an ability to break up play and cover plenty of ground, similar to how Ander Herrera used to play in the United midfield.
Collyer was given a standing ovation as he left the pitch and was awarded an 8.5/10 player rating by HullLive for his performance. "A first start for the on-loan Manchester United midfielder, and he started well, winning the ball early, and looking neat and tidy on the ball. Probably City's best player in an absorbing first period and that continued in the second. Deserved his standing ovation when he departed," they said.
Those thoughts were echoed the day after the match, as the publication added: "Constantly on the move, stealing the ball, winning his tackles and always available. Arguably, in what was a really encouraging first half, he was probably the Tigers' best player. Started the second half in a similar way, with a lovely piece of footwork to escape trouble. Collyer's overall performance was superb, and he deserved his standing ovation when he came off late in the second period."
