Chelsea supporters have flooded Enzo Maresca’s latest Instagram update with emotional pleas for the Italian’s return, signaling a lack of trust in Liam Rosenior.
Enzo Maresca’s departure on New Year’s Day came as a shock to many, ending an 18-month spell where he successfully delivered the UEFA Conference League trophy and the FIFA Club World Cup.
Despite leaving the club in fifth place, his exit was fueled by reported friction with the hierarchy and a dip in league form, leading to Liam Rosenior’s appointment.
Since leaving Chelsea, Maresca has remained a highly regarded figure on the market, recently linked as a potential successor to Pep Guardiola at Manchester City.
However, it remains to be seen as to whether Guardiola will leave the Etihad just yet.

Enzo Maresca issues an update on Instagram
The former Chelsea boss is clearly enjoying his time away from football, posting an image on Instagram of himself on holiday in a swimming pool, captioned ‘half-term’.
But it was the responses that really stood out.
One Chelsea fan said, “Miss you, gaffer.”
Another said, “Bro, thanks for everything. You are a legend for Chelsea.”
A third emphasised the point, “I miss you more than my gf.”
Here’s what a fourth said, “Come back when the ownership leaves.”
A last said, “We miss you, Gaffer, you were the only competent manager in the BlueCo era.”

Chelsea’s time without Enzo Maresca
Since Enzo Maresca’s exit, Chelsea has grappled with finding a consistent identity. Rosenior’s arrival from sister-club Strasbourg brought a shift toward a more fluid, high-pressing system.
The Blues initially enjoyed a four-match winning streak under the new boss, but recent form has exposed a lack of consistency. Humiliating exits from the Champions League and Carabao Cup, paired with a 3–0 loss at Everton, have left Chelsea sitting in sixth place.
Although a recent 7–0 thrashing of Port Vale offered a reprieve, the clash with Manchester City is being viewed as the ultimate litmus test for whether Rosenior’s process can truly fill the void.
