Paul Scholes puts Benjamin Sesko in same 10-player bracket at Man Utd alongside Bruno Fernandes

Paul Scholes has placed Benjamin Sesko in the ‘keep’ column for Manchester United players he would want at Old Trafford alongside the likes of Bruno Fernandes.

Benjamin Sesko has seen a turnaround in form and momentum in the second half of the 2025-26 Premier League season since Michael Carrick arrived at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old Manchester United striker has been an effective substitute option for Michael Carrick and has alternated in the frontline with Bryan Mbeumo as well.

Slovenia international Sesko has found the back of the net five times in the last nine Premier League matches for Man Utd ahead of the March international break.

Paul Scholes reveals why he would keep both Benjamin Sesko and Bruno Fernandes at Man Utd

Speaking on his podcast alongside Nicky Butt, former Red Devils midfielder Paul Scholes dropped his assessment on several Manchester United first-team players.

Scholes admitted that Benjamin Sesko would be one of the United stars who would survive the chopping block if he had the chance to keep or sell players at the club.

The 51-year-old former TNT Sports pundit has been sold by what he has seen from in-form striker Sesko since Ruben Amorim was sacked as Man Utd manager.

“Keep. I like him, me, I think he’s alright,” he said on The Good, The Bad & The Football podcast.

Scholes, unsurprisingly, insisted that Bruno Fernandes has shown his qualities for Man Utd again during both the high and low moments of the 2025-26 campaign.

“Talk about player of the year, in a team that, in the first half of the season were terrible, he could be that player. Keep him,” he said.

Who else would Paul Scholes keep at Old Trafford alongside Man Utd stars Benjamin Sesko and Bruno Fernandes?

Sesko and Fernandes were only two of the 10 players who escaped the axe of Scholes, with Senne Lammens, Amad Diallo and Kobbie Mainoo alongside them.

Speaking on Diogo Dalot, Scholes said: “Just keep. He’s a squad player for me.”

Scholes explained that Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez would be the two main defenders that he would keep at Man Utd if he were overseeing the first-team squad.

When it came to the attacking options outside of Sesko and Amad Diallo, the United legend would make sure Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo stayed at the club as well.
