Fabrizio Romano says Man Utd have 'started movement' on selling Ineos signing already, 'Almost guaranteed...'

Manuel Ugarte’s spell at Man Utd could be about to end, as Fabrizio Romano reports a complete change in the club’s plans.

Despite Champions League qualification looking likely, Man Utd were always going to be ruthless in the transfer window to supplement their budget.

Manuel Ugarte had been linked to an exit in January and last summer as well, but he has gone further backwards this season.

Despite a recent resurgence with Uruguay, United’s patience has run out, as Romano shares that the club have decided to part ways.

Manuel Ugarte transfer update

Ugarte’s time at Old Trafford was always going to be painful once United were eliminated from two cup competitions.

His own form and lack of application in training sessions didn’t help, neither did the fact that the upcoming summer will be his second at United.

The Omar Berrada rule comes into effect in case of non-performance after two years, so Ugarte faced an uphill task to save his United career.

As per Fabrizio Romano’s latest update on his YouTube channel, Ugarte has failed that task, leading to a concrete change in United’s plans.

They will now look to buy two central midfielders instead of one.

Romano said: “According to my information, some movements have already started to find a solution for Manuel Ugarte. Casemiro’s exit is guaranteed, and Ugarte’s is also becoming almost guaranteed.

“So midfield signings, one for sure, but 100% could be two. That is becoming in conversations internally at Man Utd.”

Ugarte is a mistake Ineos must learn from

Ineos’ record in the transfer market has been largely good, with the odd blip, which is to be expected when so many moving parts are involved.

However, Ugarte is simply a mistake Ineos cannot repeat, not just because of his own failure, but how it set the wheels in motion for everything else.

United had to sell Scott McTominay to buy Ugarte, who’s tearing it up in Italy, while PSG bought Joao Neves with the money they received by selling Ugarte.

Furthermore, agent Jorge Mendes pulled the wool over United’s eyes by saddling Ugarte’s deal to grease the wheels for Leny Yoro, which is a shady practice, no matter how you look at it.

This is a deal that was doomed from the start, and the player could not save it from becoming any less embarrassing.

Everyone involved needs to close this chapter, move on, and vow not to let this repeat.
