As an avid Steelers fan, I love tracking the coaches with Pittsburgh or Steelers ties in the NFL. In 2025, I found 39 coaches with Burgher influence around the NFL. Only two are head coaches now, versus nine in 2017. Here’s the scoop on our Burgher coaches this season.
Changing of the Burgher Guard
The Burgher presence rose to 49 coaches due to the turnover in Mike Tomlin’s staff across the league. The days of the Steelers west in Arizona are long gone. This year, the Detroit Lions and Las Vegas Raiders each have four coaches with Pittsburgh connections.
Only seven NFL teams don’t have a coach with ties to Pittsburgh.
