The [Denver Broncos](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/denver-broncos) haven't done enough in the offseason for me to believe that they're a perfect team right now, but after what they did a season ago, it's fair to note that Denver should still be among the league's elite.
As things currently stand, the Broncos will have an opportunity to get a lot better throughout the remainder of the offseason and in the NFL Draft. As long as Sean Payton and the front office continue to do their job, I expect Denver to be better than what it currently is.
Among the intriguing options out there, tight end David Njoku should be at the top of the list. Njoku has proven throughout his career that he can make plays at a very high level at the tight end position, and he'd be somebody who'd fit in very well in a Payton system.
Mark Morales-Smith wrote that Njoku could be exactly what Denver hoped to get when it made its previous move at the position.
“Njoku could be the perfect fit for this role. He's everything the Broncos hoped Engram would be and more. We have seen that he can handle the volume and make big plays both downfield and in the end zone. It would be very intriguing to see how Sean Payton would utilize Njoku in that offense. You could make a case that he could be a top-two pass-catcher in Denver and a fantasy TE1.”
Payton has been known to want physical tight ends who can do a lot in an offense. If there's one thing that's been certain about Payton throughout his career, it's that he loves his tight ends and has made that known over the past few years. Njoku is certainly the best one available right now, unless the Broncos believe that somebody in the draft could do a better job than the [Cleveland Browns](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/cleveland-browns) veteran.
