The conversation around Jalen Hurts continues to be one of the more interesting in the NFL. Many believe that Hurts has the tools to be a very good player in this league, while others don't think he's much of anything. It's tough to get a feel for how every player views someone else, but after comments from Lavonte David about how defenses approached facing Hurts, it raised some reactions. That includes one from C.J. Gardner-Johnson, who jumped in to defend his former quarterback.
“Why do this …… like come on!” Gardner-Johnson wrote. “People will continue to bash this man for what reason??? Plenty of other QB news we can talk about.”
It's a bit odd that David came out and made this comment, but this is what guys in the NFL do at the end of the day. A lot of it is just trash talking, and whether he was being genuine or just trying to get a reaction out of Hurts and the [Philadelphia Eagles](https://www.sportingnews.com/us/nfl/philadelphia-eagles) is uncertain. Regardless, Hurts is a Super Bowl-winning quarterback, and whatever people want to say about him, the truth is the truth.
