Hailee Steinfeld Shares Personal Vacation Memories Amid Birth of Baby With Josh Allen of the Buffalo Bills

On Tuesday, April 7, Steinfeld took to her newsletter to share a story about how much she enjoyed visiting Japan.

“The other day, I was reflecting on my first trip to Japan,” she says in the post, which is on Substack. “Greer inspired me, obviously. Didn’t her trip look incredible? It made me excited to get back soon.”

Steinfeld says she went to Japan for the first time when she was just 13 years old. “True Grit had just come out, and our cast was doing promotion overseas. It was technically a ‘work trip,’ but you’d never guess it looking at these photos — that 13-year-old girl could not be smiling any bigger! It was a trip of firsts: my first time in Asia, my first press tour for a movie, my first experience working with a translator. I thought that last one was so cool.”

Steinfeld added, “There’s something special about reflecting on a place you visited for the first time over a decade ago. You remember it differently. You pick up on details you missed that have been hiding in your memory just waiting for space to reappear.”

It’s almost like watching a movie that you love and haven’t seen in a while, right? Steinfeld continued, “I’ve been back to Japan — and throughout Asia — many times throughout my career. I’m part Filipino, so trips to the Philippines have always been really special for me.” She also shared photos of the trip in her exclusive newsletter for subscribes.
