John Harbaugh weighs in on the return of Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo.
During the first half of the 2025 season, the New York Giants lost numerous key members of their offense to devastating injuries. Following the first day of the team’s offensive program on April 7th, John Harbaugh provided vague return timelines.
The first notable player to be sidelined was wide receiver Malik Nabers, who suffered a torn ACL in Week 4. A few games later, Cam Skattebo saw his rookie campaign get cut short due to a gruesome ankle injury.
While addressing the media on Tuesday, Harbaugh was asked about the status of both players. He hasn’t had deep conversations with the Giants staff regarding their rehabs, but things look to be progressing in a positive direction.
“Skat is probably going to be ahead of Malik,” Harbaugh said. “Skat will probably get out get out there a little bit some point in time, some degree…Malik is gonna be more towards into training camp and closer to the season. That’s more Malik’s timeline.”

Though no return is set in stone for either player, it looks as though the Giants will have the services of Skattebo and Nabers by the start of the regular season.
Malik Nabers and Cam Skattebo Hard at Work During Giants’ Offseason Program
Months removed from their respective injuries, Skattebo and Nabers are motivated to get back to 100% for the 2026 campaign. Both players were seen hard at work to kick off the Giants’ offseason program.
Throughout the course of Tuesday’s festivities, the Giants posted an array of clips to their social media accounts. Among the most noteworthy was a bulked-up Nabers doing pull-ups.
They also put up a collage of photos from players in the weight room, with Skattebo being among those in the mix.
After putting together an impressive rookie season two years ago, Nabers’ ACL injury derailed his second campaign with the Giants. He’ll be eager to return to form in 2026 in hopes of getting back in the conversation of the top wideouts in the league.
Cam Skattebo Eager to Participate in Giants Training Camp
While Harbaugh didn’t provide much on Skattebo, his remarks were on par with previous comments made by the Giants running back. Weeks removed from beginning his own ramp-up, he is still on pace to achieve the timeline he has for himself.
Back on March 11th, Skattebo joined “The Rich Eisen Show” to discuss numerous topics. He touched on his injury rehab, citing that he expects to be in action by the time training camp rolls around.
“I’m getting better, I ran for the first time today about 75%,” Skattebo said. “I’ll be ready to go by training camp absolutely. I probably got a little over a month left til I’m fully back.”
If Skattebo’s projections were right, he’d be ready to be a full participant for the Giants in the coming days.
Looking ahead, Skattebo has more than enough time to get back in the mix for the Giants before the 2026 season gets underway. Following Tuesday’s action, voluntary minicamp will begin on April 21st, with OTAs starting on May 19th.
