Depot After Dark: Draft Medical Fort, Taste Of The Draft, SteelHERS Social

A Steelers Depot daily segment. A quick hit of some Pittsburgh Steelers-related stories that may not require a complete article but nuggets worth mentioning and passing on to you guys.

Your Depot After Dark for April 7.

DRAFT MEDICAL FORT

The NFL draft is expected to draw hundreds of thousands of people to Pittsburgh. That’s exciting because of all the business it should bring to the city. However, it’s also a daunting prospect. Pittsburgh is already full of people. That many visitors will make things pretty hectic for a few days.

Thankfully, the city is making preparations to handle the event. For those set to attend the draft, Allegheny Health Network is doing some extra work to help anyone who needs medical attention during the event, as Pittsburgh Magazine shared. That includes deploying a medical fort at the draft. That’s a smart idea, and fans at the draft should keep it in mind in case of emergencies.

TASTE OF THE DRAFT

The NFL draft is almost here, and the league is working hard to promote it. It’s one of the biggest events on the NFL’s calendar, so it gets a lot of advertising. With Pittsburgh serving as the host city this year, that includes some special events centered around the Steelers.

Steelers Community Relations recently posted on Twitter that fans can now get tickets to the Taste of the Draft event. It will be held on April 22 and will feature celebrity chef Andrew Zimmern, with proceeds benefiting children. Some Steelers greats are set to be in attendance, too, although it’s unclear exactly who at the moment.

STEELHERS SOCIAL

The Steelers have one of the NFL’s biggest and most passionate fan bases. That includes people all over America and even in other countries. The team tries to give back to many of them when they can, too. That includes the annual SteelHERS Social that celebrates the Steelers’ female fans.

The Steelers recently posted that this year’s SteelHERS Social will be held on May 28, with tickets available now. It includes a lot of fun activities, including player meet-and-greets. It’s been successful in the past, and hopefully, that continues this year.
