KC Concepcion is a Cleveland Browns draft target.

At this time of year, every NFL fan loves a good comp, because it makes the difficult task of sifting through draft prospects a bit easier. Find an established NFL veteran who matches–to whatever extent possible–an incoming unknown collegian, and it becomes that much easier to envision him on your team’s roster. That’s what has been happening lately with one player given mock draft links to the Browns: Texas A&M star receiver KC Concepcion.

Concepcion has been given a comp of Zay Flowers, the star wideout for the Ravens, by multiple observers. Among them is Zac Jackson of The Athletic, who said on his “Zac Jackson and Friends” podcast, “KC Concepcion, might be viewed as (Todd) Monken’s new Zay Flowers.”

That would all track well for the Browns, who have Monken on board as the new head coach after he spent the last three years in Baltimore working with Flowers and the Ravens. Flowers, the no. 22 overall pick in 2023, caught 77 passes for 858 yards as a rookie, and got vastly better each year since. He logged 86 catches for 1,211 yards last year, his second straight Pro Bowl season.

Browns Could Get KC Concepcion at No. 24

The Browns could use a guy like that. Concepcion (6-feet) is bigger than Flowers (5-foot-9), and though he did not run the 40-yard dash at the combine, he is considered a step slower than Flowers, who ran a 4.42-second dash in his go-round at the combine.

The physical differences, the thinking goes, won’t matter much–the hope is that Concepcion can produce in much the same way that Flowers has.

ESPN’s Peter Schrager ran a mock draft this week that highlighted the Concepcion-Flowers-Monken connection.

Wrote Schrager: “Concepcion is a do-everything wideout who averaged 15.1 yards per catch in 2025 and can also be a key playmaker in the return game. I’ve had multiple sources compare Concepcion to Zay Flowers. New offensive coordinator Travis Switzer and new coach Todd Monken both had Flowers in Baltimore, and they could get creative with how they use Concepcion in this offense. I had the Browns going with an offensive tackle at No. 6, but they need a playmaker, too.”

Wide Receivers the Target

That does seem to be the approach the Browns will take heading into the 2026 draft, which is less than two weeks away. They have glaring holes at left tackle and wide receiver, and they’ll attempt to fill both holes with their first-round picks–No. 6 could be used to bolster the line and No. 24 could go to a receiver in what is considered a deep draft at the position.

The Browns’ receiver room badly needs help, and the team is putting in the effort to scout the incomers. Of the Top 8 receivers on the Pro Football Focus big board, the Browns met with all on Top 30 visits before the draft:

Carnell Tate, Ohio State. First on PFF’s WR list.

Makai Lemon, USC. Second on PFF’s WR list.

Jordyn Tyson, Arizona State. Third on PFF’s WR list.

Denzel Boston, Washington. Fourth on PFF’s WR list.

Omar Cooper Jr., Indiana. Fifth on PFF’s WR list.

KC Concepcion, Texas A& M. Sixth on PFF’s WR list.

Chris Bell, Louisville. Seventh on PFF’s WR list.

Germie Bernard, Alabama. Eighth on PFF’s WR list.
