Harry Maguire turned down reunion with two ex-Man Utd teammates as well as David Beckham

Harry Maguire has signed a new deal at Manchester United that could potentially keep him at Old Trafford until 2028.

After the English defender’s impressive 2025/26 campaign, Ineos made it a priority to organise a new deal for Harry Maguire.

On Tuesday, Maguire’s new contract was confirmed, with the 33-year-old signing a one-year extension with an option for another year.

Maguire accepted a pay cut from his £190,000 per week wages in order to extend his stay at Old Trafford, and he also turned down some exciting offers elsewhere.

Harry Maguire rejected Inter Miami and David Beckham

Maguire still has big goals to achieve at United, and he has proven this season that he can still compete at the highest level as a regular starter.

It always seemed likely that he would extend his contract rather than leave as a free agent in the summer, but he did have other offers on his table.

According to The Sun, Maguire rejected a proposal from Inter Miami, where he would have had the opportunity to play alongside Lionel Messi under David Beckham’s ownership.

Beckham has supported Maguire’s United career from afar, with the former Red Devils winger offering him some key advice when he was going through a tough patch.

However, Maguire did not take up the opportunity to go and play under the legendary United No.7.

Not only did Maguire turn down Inter Miami, Messi and Beckham, but the report also claims that there was interest from Napoli.

Maguire could have joined his former United teammates in Naples, but he was determined to extend his United career.

Joining Napoli would mean Champions League football next season and a chance to compete for the Serie A title, but United are also on track to qualify for the Champions League and Ineos have ambitions of challenging for the Premier League sooner rather than later.
