Man Utd will allow the forward to leave the club in the summer transfer window.

The 26-year-old is set to leave Manchester United as a free agent at the end of the season, with the club not expected to exercise its option of an additional year in his contract. Sancho is currently on loan with Premier League side Aston Villa and could be offered the chance to join Dortmund for the third time in his career.

Sancho left Manchester City as a teenager to join Dortmund and went on to establish himself as one of the most exciting forward players in Europe. He moved to United for an initial fee of £73 million back in 2021 and returned to Dortmund on loan for the second half of the 2023/24 season, having struggled to establish himself at Old Trafford.

Dortmund consider third Sancho move

Borussia Dortmund will consider a move for Jadon Sancho this summer, but are keeping their options open as they look to reinforce their squad. The English forward netted 53 goals and 67 assists across his first two spells with the Bundesliga club and could be an attractive addition as a free agent this summer.

Manchester United are prepared to let Sancho leave for free at the end of the season and Dortmund director Lars Ricken has confirmed their initial interest over a possible reunion.

“We are currently looking at a lot of players and analysing them. We check whether they can make us better. We are doing the same with Jadon,” Ricken told Sport Bild.

The German club are also eager to reinforce in defence this summer. Ricken added: “Of course, we are looking for an offensive player who brings quality, can help us immediately, and doesn’t require an unrealistic transfer fee. In defense, Niklas Süle is leaving us, and Emre Can will be out for a while. So we are thinking about that area as well."
