Serie A clubs have always kept a close eye on Manchester United‘s Joshua Zirkzee. Now, Atalanta are keen on pursuing a transfer for the striker.
As recently as last week,Sport Witness covered Napoli’s interest in the Dutchman. They were believed to have held initial talks with his entourage, with director Giovanni Manna keen.
This came right after even AS Roma attempted a deal in the winter. Manchester United’s demands proved problematic, as the Giallorossi couldn’t match their price-tag.
Still, it feels like a return to Italy is inevitable for Zirkzee. This can also involve a potential arrival at Old Trafford.

Raffaele Palladino sees the striker as a good fit for the setup, even if the deal won’t be easy. There is also competition from Roma and Como, with the situation presented as a ‘transfer battle’.
Over the past few months, Manchester United haveconstantly been mentioned as a suitor for Ederson. They have previously made an offer for him but it wasn’t enough.
The Brazilian’s contract in Bergamo runs out in 2027, which could hand an opportunity to the Red Devils for a summer deal.

It has been increasingly clear that Zirkzee has no future at Manchester United. He hasn’t started even once under Michael Carrick and wasn’t a key part of Ruben Amorim’s side either.

As for Ederson, he is at the right age to get a big move. 2026 provides Atalanta the perfect time to make a sale, as they would hate to lose a key player for free in 2027, especially since he isn’t signing a new deal.
Besides, Manchester United desperately want midfielders, with Casemiro on his way out. Manuel Ugarte also appears to be departing, making at least two midfield signings very important. Ederson fits the bill, having played mainly as a number eight in Bergamo.
