Cleveland Browns News and Rumors 04/08/26: Mock Drafts, Random Gibberish, and Similar Things

CLEVELAND, OHIO (TheOBR.com) - Good morning, Cleveland Browns fans!

There are a lot of mock drafts out there. Some of them are good (if they agree with me), and some are not (in the alternative scenario). The ones that are especially good are the mocks that have players like Makai Lemon and Monroe Freeling falling to the Browns at #24, where either player would be a nice fit. I'm not willing to entertain Freeling at #6, as I wrote yesterday, but I have no issue with Lemon there. To get either at #24 would be a nice surprise. Won't happen, of course, but nice. Bleacher Report summarizes a bunch, as they belatedly try to fill the gigantic void left in draft coverage by the dear, departed Mock Draft Muncher.

Speaking of potential picks at #24, Louisville WR Chris Bell has eight 30-visit invitations, which speaks to how valued he is in this draft class. Bell reportedly ran a 4.38 40-yard dash and brings a big-play ability that could intrigue teams picking in the 20s. He has been one of the 30 pre-draft invites to speak to the Browns.

On the field, players officially reported for the start of the extended offseason program per Scott Petrak of BrownsZone. The Monken Era is underway, and it's time to get to work. The team published some pictures of the team's three quarterbacks working out and similar info, but Day 1 of the voluntary workouts was closed to the media. Monken and "selected players" will meet with the media starting at 12:15 this afternoon. The OBR will be there in the personage of Fred Greetham, and the team will probably broadcast the media time on their YouTube channel.

On the home front, I'm still wandering around like a zombie from some medication changes, so I apologize for the short bloviation this morning. It's one of those "about to fall asleep while writing" days, which are always dangerous, or would be if anyone expected coherence from this particular article. It's something I need to test someday - would anyone notice if I fell asleep and my head fell on my keyboard, leaving behind some sort of random gibberish like "wer9 q2u9 ;p"? I'd say it's 50-50. Perhaps you can let me know if you noticed this paragraph in the comments.

There, I've processed all the useful stuff I could find. And some useless stuff. Hope you have a better day than the way mine has started.

Have a good one! GO BROWNS!

THE LIFT

Positive news from the world of sports and beyond...

- Dogs can detect Parkinson's years before symptoms show — with 98% accuracy

I write about dogs a lot here, because if there's anything that gives an instant upward lift in mood, it's a happy pup who is just pleased to see me. As this is Parkinson's Awareness Month, it seems like a good time as any to share this story about how dogs can identify Parkinson's years before symptoms show — with 98% accuracy. Wow. Put this in your Lift book (you've been keeping one, right?) as "We don't deserve dogs, part 4328". And make sure you visit the Parkinson's Foundation to learn more via the link I provided above.
