'Embarrassingly bad' Marcus Rashford trait is being fixed at Barcelona, says Hansi Flick

Marcus Rashford is becoming a more well-rounded player while on loan from Manchester United at Barcelona.

Since joining Barcelona, Marcus Rashford has been enjoying his football again, and it seems he has rediscovered his form in front of goal with 11 goals and 13 assists for the Spanish side.

While Rashford’s future is undecided, it is clear that manager Hansi Flick is pleased with Rashford at Camp Nou and would be in favour of keeping the 28-year-old permanently.

Not only has Rashford been in good form in front of goal, but Flick insists his all-round play is improving.

Marcus Rashford’s work rate at Man Utd was ’embarrassingly bad’

During his final seasons at United, Rashford’s work rate was heavily criticised alongside his body language.

It looked as though the Carrington graduate had fallen out of love with football at times, with his head frequently dropping and fans spotting the forward simply give up when defending at times.

Speaking on talkSPORT in 2024, Jamie O’Hara said: “When he gives the ball away, he doesn’t even try and win it back. There’s no urgency to his game.

“He only wants to make a run when he thinks he’s going to get in on goal or he’s going to get the ball. His work rate off the ball is embarrassingly bad. It’s so bad.”

Rashford was frozen out of the United team by Ruben Amorim because of concerns over his work rate and effort in training, but it seems he is managing to iron out his issues at Barcelona.
