The good news for the Carolina Panthers is that Bryce Young seems to have solidified himself as their starting quarterback.
The shakier news is that the depth chart behind him isn't ideal.
Andy Dalton was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles, and right now it's just Kenny Pickett as a potential QB2.
ESPN's Ben Solak wrote in a new article on Wednesday that this month's NFL Draft might be the ideal time to supplement there, and he even singles out one player: Clemson's Cade Klubnik.
Klubnik could be available to the Panthers in the sixth round at pick 200, writes Solak.
"An ex-five-star recruit, Klubnik has a great arm with solid throwing mechanics," Solak wrote. "His best throws come on his deep ball, which he can also deliver well on the move, and his quick upfield stride takes a lot of linebackers by surprise. Klubnik is a classic 'give a receiver a chance' sort of quarterback -- he'll hang a lot of catchable balls on high trajectory throws, and his accuracy falls off when forced to drive breaking routes between windows."

The Panthers don't need to find a QB who can replace Young. They simply need a guy who can execute the offense well enough when Young isn't on the field.
Given Klubnik's top-tier recruit status and solid success at a premier college program, he might fit the mold they need.
"Struggles with timing and anticipation have marred Klubnik's film at times, but coach Dave Canales has historically succeeded at getting quarterbacks (Geno Smith, Baker Mayfield) to play a quicker brand of football," Solak writes. "The marriage could work for Klubnik as a rookie contract backup."
Klubnik was viewed by some as a first-round pick entering the 2025 college football season. The idea that the Panthers could get him in the sixth round certainly seems to be a chance worth taking.
