The Buffalo Bills are approaching a crucial NFL draft, and the influx of new players to their roster could play a significant role in whether they reach the Super Bowl this season or fall short once again.

Buffalo should do everything it can to strengthen the defensive side of the ball, but it should also consider targeting another playmaker for Josh Allen early in the draft.

Bills Can’t Afford to Make This Mistake

Just because the Bills traded a 2026 second-round pick for Chicago Bears wide receiver DJ Moore this offseason doesn’t mean Buffalo should stop drafting at that position. Thisis one mistake that Bills On SI writer Randy Gurzi hopes Buffalo doesn’t make.

“Moore will help Josh Allen, regardless of how much criticism the trade has received,” Gurzi wrote on Wednesday. “He might not be the player he once was, but Moore has experience working with Brady and is a better option than anyone they had last year.

“That said, they can’t go into the draft thinking they’re set at receiver. Outside of Khalil Shakir, no player on the roster has proven they can be relied upon consistently. That’s why the Bills must add more help, even if it’s not with their first pick”.

The Bills currently hold the No. 26 pick, which presents a fantastic opportunity for them to draft a talented wide receiver who might be falling down the board.

Usually, a handful of receivers fall late in the first round due to the position’s depth. Since the Bills will miss the opportunity to draft a receiver in the second round, they could seize the chance to grab one in round one.

Could Buffalo be in Play For Jordyn Tyson

One receiver whose stock is starting to drop is Jordyn Tyson from Arizona State. At the beginning of the offseason, many NFL draft analysts projected Tyson as a top-10 pick, but a lot has shifted since the combine and pro days.

Tyson is a talented player with the potential to be a top pick for many teams, but his biggest hurdle is maintaining his health. He played four years of college football, starting with a season at Colorado before transferring to Arizona State for the next three years. Unfortunately, he struggled to stay on the field, making only 33 appearances. Most of the 2023 season was lost to a multiligament knee injury, and shortly after returning in 2024, he suffered a clavicle fracture. To make matters worse, he faced a hamstring injury in 2025, further complicating his journey.

If Tyson slips to 26th, the Bills will face a tough decision. If Buffalo is confident that Tyson’s injury won’t be a significant issue in the NFL, it would be an obvious choice to draft him. However, the Bills have had a challenging track record with their first-round picks in recent years, and if Tyson lands in Buffalo but struggles to stay healthy, it could further complicate its quest to reach the Super Bowl.

The Bills are going to be a wildcard in this year’s draft, and it will be exciting to see which positions they target in the first round
