The Dolphins are set to meet with a player who has drawn comparisons to Puka Nacua

The Miami Dolphins are in search of playmakers. Despite tearing down the roster this offseason, Miamimade a large commitment to new quarterback Malik Willis, as they signed him to a three-year, $67 million contract. By all accounts, Miami’s plan is to build their offense around the talented dual-threat quarterback. However, aftertrading wide receiver Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos andreleasing All-Pro receiver Tyreek Hill, the team needs weapons to support their inexperienced quarterback.

Fortunately, it appears the Dolphins share that mindset as head coachJeff Hafley told Kay Adams on “Up & Adams,” “We’ve got seven in the first 100 picks. We’ll have receivers for Malik to throw to. The next time you talk after the draft and as we get the players here, I think you’re going to see we’ll get some good ones for him to throw to.”

Now, the team is set to meet with a top prospect, who has drawn comparisons to Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua.

Miami Dolphins Set to Meet With Denzel Boston

Miami Herald writer Barry Jackson reported that the Miami Dolphins are set to meet with Washington wide receiver Denzel Boston as one of their 30 visits ahead of the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.

NFL.com’s draft analyst Lance Zierlein listed Puka Nacua as Boston’s pro comparison. In his profile of Boston,Zierlein wrote:

“Two-year starter with elite ball skills that should supersede athletic/speed limitations. A Puka Nacua comparison might feel strong, but like Nacua, Boston enters the draft with speed/separation concerns and outstanding competitive toughness. Boston gets off the line with good burst and maintains his top speed throughout the route.

He could have issues beating press, but releases can also be schemed. He’s very skilled when it comes to winning jump balls and contested throws. Boston also knows how to win in the red zone. Acclimating to NFL competition could take a year, but Boston has the makeup to become a productive possession target with above-average red-zone value.”

Potential Target Range for Boston

Boston is widely viewed as a potential first-round pick; however, he is ranked as the No. 27 prospect by NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah. The Dolphins currently hold the 11th and 30th selection in the upcoming draft, which would potentially make Boston a target for the Dolphins with their second selection.

Regarding Boston’s potential fit with the Dolphins,A to Z Sports writer Kyle Crabbs wrote:“The Dolphins have shown interest in the pre-draft process in a number of pass catchers. The latest one could be the kind of addition that completely overhauls the narrative on the room.

Boston is a 6-foot-4, 212 pound wide receiver who boasts a massive catch radius. He’s shown strong hands and effective run after the catch ability. If a wide receiver room is best off being designed “like a basketball team”, Boston would be the center equivalent player. In recent years, Miami’s wide receivers have been constructed too similarly; many of them built like “point guards”.

Dolphins general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan had previously stated that the team wanted to change the outlook of the receiver room as he did not plan on only having short, speedy types. Adding Boston would be a makeover of the receiver room.
