Arseblog News understands that Swiss midfielder Geraldine Reuteler is set to join Arsenal this summer on a free transfer from Frankfurt.
Arseblog News exclusively reported that Arsenal made an approach for the player last summer, the player was keen to join but Frankfurt would not countenance a sale and made Reuteler part of their leadership group.
Much as they have with Georgia Stanway, who they also expressed an interest in buying from Bayern Munich last summer, Arsenal opted to wait until Reuteler’s contract expires this summer rather than move onto other targets.
Reuteler has six goals and six assists in 21 Frauen Bundesliga this season. Arsenal need to bolster their midfield with Victoria Pelova’s future in doubt. While Kim Little has extended her contract for a further year, there is an acknowledgment that long term reinforcement is required with Little turning 36 in the summer.
