Manchester United have identified VFB Stuttgart midfielder Angelo Stiller as a potential midfield target and one game-changing moment proves he is similar to Casemiro.
Last summer, Manchester United showed interest in Angelo Stiller, although Ineos decided to wait until 2026 to overhaul the midfield.
Stiller has been compared to Toni Kroos because of his well-rounded midfield ability, and the 25-year-old looks set for a big move this summer after an impressive campaign with Stuttgart.
There is a £35m release clause for Stiller active this summer, although Stuttgart can buy out that clause to demand a bigger fee for the midfielder.

Stuttgart collapse when Angelo Stiller is not on the pitch
Last weekend, Stuttgart’s Champions League charge suffered a blow when they lost 2-0 to Borussia Dortmund in the Bundesliga.
Dortmund scored both goals in injury time, just moments after Stiller was taken off the pitch by manager Sebastian Hoeness.
Stiller was replaced in the 88th-minute and Dortmund scored their goals in the 94th and 96th minute to claim all three points.

Stuttgart’s defence collapsed as soon as the midfielder left the pitch. As per SofaScore, Stiller boasted a 100% tackle success rate during his performance as well as making nine ball recoveries and winning five of his seven duels.
He earned a 7.5 rating for his performance – the highest of any player in the match.

The top priority for Ineos this summer is replacing Casemiro as the Brazilian has been a key player ever since his move to Old Trafford.
Casemiro is leaving in the summer as a free agent, so Ineos have had time to scour the market for a perfect replacement.
This season, United have collapsed when Casemiro is taken off, which has been a problem for both Ruben Amorim and now Michael Carrick.

Stiller has the same impact as Casemiro has at United when it comes to being the glue in midfield and holding things together. United need a midfielder who can arrive this summer and fill his shoes, and it seems Stiller is already playing a similar role at Stuttgart.
Other than serving two suspensions, Casemiro has played in every Premier League game this season when available. Stiller has also appeared in all of Stuttgart’s Bundesliga matches in 2025/26.
