Browns might want to avoid Arizona State WR in NFL Draft for Jerry Jeudy reason

Coming into the 2026 NFL Draft, the Cleveland Browns have a few clear needs, both of which are on the offensive side of the ball.

Adding another offensive lineman, specifically a left tackle, is high on the list of priorities. But another massive need is at the wide receiver position. There will be plenty of options in a strong WR draft class, but there might be one player to avoid.

ESPN's Ben Solak made an NFL comparison for Arizona State WR prospect Jordyn Tyson, and it's the kind of comparison that might sour Browns fans on the WR, as Solak compared him to Jerry Jeudy.

Jordyn Tyson's NFL comp is Jerry Jeudy

"Tyson (Arizona State) uses his quickness to separate and has the speed and YAC ability to be an uncoverable receiver against man coverage," Solak writes. "Like Jeudy, he can be too complex in his releases and struggles with physicality through the route. But a healthy Tyson can be both a big-play threat and high-volume receiver in the league."

Having Solak compare Tyson to Jeudy would be a slightly concerning NFL comparison for any fan base that might be interested in the Arizona State WR prospect.

But for Browns fans, who have already been dealing with Jeudy in recent years, adding another player just like him is not what the team needs.

Taking a chance on someone like Tyson wouldn't be the worst option for a team like the Los Angeles Rams, the Kansas City Chiefs, or the Philadelphia Eagles, teams with more established offenses and WR rooms.

But, for the Browns, a team that already has a similar WR in Jeudy on the roster, and needs a more sure-fire thing at WR, Tyson doesn't look to be a good option.

Tyson had 711 receiving yards and eight touchdowns on 61 receptions last season for the Sun Devils, and had 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns on 75 catches the year prior.

Similar to Jeudy, his high ceiling is appealing, but his floor is low, with some struggles when it comes to physicality and route-running.

Tyson might've been a great option with the 24th pick if he made it there, which has looked more likely as the draft has approached.

But with this NFL comparison, the Browns might be better taking someone like Omar Cooper Jr., Denzel Boston, or KC Concepcion instead of Tyson, whose NFL comparison is Jerry Jeudy.
