Three changes Man Utd are making to Old Trafford for the 2026/27 season

Manchester United have announced a series of stadium enhancements at Old Trafford ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Even though Manchester United have plans for a new stadium, the club are still working to improve the matchday experience for fans at Old Trafford.

The new stadium will be 100,000-capacity and has been branded ‘Wembley of the North’, though United still need to purchase more land before construction can begin.

There is a lot of uncertainty over the timeline of the new stadium, with fans unaware of how long the team will be playing at Old Trafford.

The first improvement announced by United will focus on the speed and quality of service, as per ManUtd.com.

There will be new draught beer taps across the stadium, as well as more self-service bars to address long queues.

Another improvement will see fans receive better information on matchday. This will be done by new digital signage, which means menus can be changed depending on kick-off times and types of fixtures.

In addition to these improvements, there will be more choices and “local flavour” at Old Trafford. That includes a range of independent street food vendors from Manchester.

No specifics have been released on what the new range of beers will include.

Along with the announcement, club CEO Omar Berrada stressed the importance of improving the experience for fans on matchday.

Berrada said: “Improving matchdays at Old Trafford is an essential part of our strategy for Manchester United.

“Old Trafford holds a unique place in world football and, whilst we have plans for a new stadium in the long term, we have a responsibility to ensure we’re continuing to invest in our facilities and services in the short term.
