LIVINGSTON, Ala. (WBRC) - A former NFL offensive lineman is joining the West Alabama (UWA) football coaching staff this spring.
UWA athletics announced the hiring of Kaleb Johnson Wednesday as the football program’s new offensive line coach and run game coordinator.
Johnson comes to Livingston after having spent the last three years as an offensive line/quality control coach at the University of Florida. Before Florida, Johnson spent three seasons at his alma mater, Rutgers, as the program’s strength and conditioning assistant and offensive line performance liaison.
Before his coaching career, Johnson played at Rutgers from 2011-2014 and then spent five years in the NFL, playing for the Bears, Browns, Cardinals, Chiefs, Eagles, Ravens, and Vikings.
UWA says Johnson is on campus and is set to coach the Tigers in spring ball.
