With the NFL draft approaching in just under two weeks, it’s time to start considering the players the New England Patriots might select in the first round of the draft.
The Patriots wouldn’t go wrong by selecting a wide receiver with their pick at No. 31, and CBS Sports' Garrett Podell has a specific player in mind.
Podell released a mock draft on Wednesday, showcasing New England’s selection of Washington's wide receiver Denzel Boston at the No. 31 pick.
"Denzel Boston is a tank who can line up in the slot and outside and blow through press coverage, and 2025 NFL MVP runner up Drake Maye will certainly enjoy having him to throw to in addition to free agency acquisition Romeo Doubs," Podell wrote.
Boston played four seasons of college football at Washington. He appeared in 43 games, recording 132 receptions for 1,781 receiving yards and 20 touchdowns.
The one thing that stands out about Boston is his 6-foot-4 frame, and if the Patriots draft him, he could be a red zone target for Maye.
