Argentine giants Boca Juniors are already counting the financial benefits of a reported summer transfer of their former youth product Valentín Barco, even though the deal with CHELSEA
has yet to be officially sealed. The prospect of a sizeable payout for the Buenos Aires club has sparked excitement within La Bombonera’s corridors and social-media chatter back home.
According to El Intransigente, Boca could receive a meaningful sum through FIFA’s solidarity mechanism — a system that distributes a percentage of international transfer fees to clubs involved in a player’s development.
Barco, who joined Boca’s youth setup at age 12 before moving to Europe, is expected to earn the club roughly 3 % of the final transfer fee once his move to Chelsea is formalised this June.
With estimates placing the total transfer somewhere in the region of €25–30 million, Boca could net close to €750,000–€900,000 — a welcome boost for finances ahead of the new domestic season. Club officials are reportedly already evaluating how best to deploy the funds, with infrastructure projects and youth development among the priorities under consideration.
