Fabrizio Romano provides boost to Man Utd with latest Elliot Anderson transfer update, ‘Telling you…’

Elliot Anderson has already become a transfer saga with countless twists and turns, and the latest one benefits Man Utd immensely.

Man Utd’s priority target, Elliot Anderson, is also the priority target for many other clubs across Europe.

Champions League qualification will help United convince the Forest midfielder, as will the hidden Kobbie Mainoo factor.

However, Man City looked ahead in the race for his signature, which was a blow to United. Fabrizio Romano’s latest update on the player’s future is a boost for the club.

Elliot Anderson Man Utd transfer latest

The midfielders market this summer will be one to watch because so many marquee names are on the radar, and many elite clubs are looking for midfielders.

For Man Utd, the focus is on getting a PL-proven name, which means Elliot Anderson has shot to the top of the list.

It’s why City being close to sealing his signing came as such a blow to United in the last week.

Fabrizio Romano has now rubbished those claims, saying that United remain attentive in the race for his signature, and despite City’s best efforts, can’t be counted out as yet.

He said [via his YouTube channel]: “Manchester City are very serious on the deal. They are in conversations with the player’s camp.

“But when you see discussions around agreement done, close, price tags, transfer fees, I will keep telling you that there’s nothing done or decided with any club.

“Man Utd remain attentive to the situation until any deal is closed for Anderson. They want to maintain themselves in the conversation because they have him on their shortlist.”

Ineos won’t work like the Glazers

The Glazers drew deserved criticism for working on only one deal at a time, which saw them lose out on their backups as well once the priority target went elsewhere.

IF Elliot Anderson signs for Man City, who would be your TOP PRIORITY midfield alternative?

Ineos don’t work like that, as evidenced by their signing of Benjamin Sesko once Liam Delap chose Chelsea last summer.

They will work through a clear list of backups and priorities, all at the same time, and then move forward with the one they deem fit.

Anderson will remain a target until he chooses to go elsewhere, but the good thing about this approach is that if he does go elsewhere, United won’t be caught cold and unprepared.

One marquee midfielder will arrive at Old Trafford in the summer. Ineos have earned that much trust.
