Seahawks' quarterback Sam Darnold and his wife, Katie, have shared photos from their wedding
The past few months have been a whirlwind for Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold. In his first season with his new team, Darnold promptly led the Seahawks to victory in Super Bowl LX over the New England Patriots. In the process, he completed his transformation from a draft bust into one of the top quarterbacks in the league.
The offseason to this point has been filled with celebration for Darnold and the rest of his teammates. He recently achieved another major life milestone off the field, though, as he got married to his longtime girlfriend, Katie. With the ceremony taking place earlier this month, the newlyweds shared photos from their big day in a post on Instagram recently.

It’s tough to overstate just how much Darnold’s life has changed over the past few months. The No. 3 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft, Darnold spent the first three seasons of his career struggling to find his way with the New York Jets. Simply put, he seemed like a bust, with his low point coming when he admitted to “seeing ghosts” while mic’d up during a blowout loss to the New England Patriots.
Darnold was traded to the Carolina Panthers ahead of the 2021 campaign, but he struggled for two more years with them before he was allowed to leave in free agency. In 2023, Darnold spent what ended up being a pivotal year for him with the San Francisco 49ers. During that time, head coach Kyle Shanahan built Darnold back up, and it helped set the stage for a breakout campaign in 2024 with the Minnesota Vikings.
Seattle signed Darnold to a three-year, $100.5 million contract last offseason, and he rewarded them with a Super Bowl championship. That wasn’t the only ring Darnold won, though, as he also married Katie earlier this month. The wins keep coming for Sam and Katie, and they shared some of the photos from their big day for their fans to see.
“Big year for rings,” the Darnolds said in their post on Instagram.

Regardless of whether or not the Seahawks won Super Bowl LX, the Darnolds were going to get married this offseason. Getting a Super Bowl ring in addition to a wedding ring, though, is pretty sweet, and that likely only made this celebration for this duo even more enjoyable. It’s tough to say there’s anyone who is having a better offseason than Darnold right now.
And yet, in just a few months, he will be back on the field with one primary goal on his mind, and that’s to win another championship. Seattle has retained several key pieces of its Super Bowl-winning squad, and even in a competitive NFC West division, it should have a great shot at making another title run next year. Chances are, Darnold will play a big role in determining what the Seahawks can accomplish, but he’s got the full belief of the organization heading into 2026.
