Oft-injured NFL draft prospect schedules individual workout for teams

Arizona State Sun Devils receiver Jordyn Tyson is an intriguing NFL draft prospect.

Tyson is a consensus first-round pick after three seasons at Arizona State and one with the Colorado Buffaloes.

The question is how high Tyson will be selected in the draft, which begins April 23 in Pittsburgh.

A long injury history limited Tyson to 24 out of a possible 39 games with the Sun Devils. A lingering hamstring injury kept him from working out at the NFL scouting combine on Feb. 28 and Arizona State’s pro day on March 27.

But Tyson wants to prove to NFL teams he is healthy. According to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, Tyson has scheduled an individual workout for Friday. April 17, at Arizona State.

At 6-foot-2, 203 pounds, Tyson has the physical attributes to thrive in the NFL. Unfortunately, he tore the ACL, MCL and PCL in his knee at Colorado. and that injury limited him to three games the next season with the Sun Devils. Then, at Arizona State, he broke his collarbone in 2024 and suffered the hamstring injury in 2025.

Tyson’s breakout season came in 2024, when the Sun Devils won the Big 12 and advanced to the College Football Playoff. He caught 75 passes for 1,101 yards and 10 touchdowns in 12 games. During 2025, Tyson played in just nine games, recording 61 catches for 711 yards and eight scores. Additionally, he rushed for a touchdown last season.

Former NFL Network and current ESPN NFL reporter Peter Schrager called Tyson the “most polarizing prospect in this draft” after releasing his first mock draft. Schrager has Tyson going No. 9 to the Kansas City Chiefs.

““Can go anywhere in the top 10 and can also go in the 20s. That is how different opinions are on Jordyn Tyson. … This guy, if he is healthy and on the field, is as good as any wide receiver in this draft,” Schrager said on “Get Up.”

The 2026 NFL Draft begins with first-round selections at 8 p.m. ET April 23 on ESPN and the NFL Network.
