Sam Darnold had an excellent 2025 season, with the Seattle Seahawks putting up a dominating performance. The franchise finished the regular season with a 14-3 record and were first in the NFC West division. They earned the NFC’s No. 1 seed and first-round bye, and went through the playoffs to eventually win the Super Bowl title.

Darnold recently got married to Katie Hoofnagle on April 3, 2026, just two months after he won the Super Bowl. They had a lavish wedding ceremony at Rancho Valencia Resort & Spa in Rancho Santa Fe, California. They held a traditional black-tie ceremony with a black-and-white aesthetic for the event and a mandatory all-black dress code for the 227 guests. The couple exchanged handwritten vows, and the wedding was officiated by Darnold’s marketing agent Tee Stumb.

The two began dating in 2023 while he was playing for the San Francisco 49ers. They later got engaged on July 5, 2025, in Dana Point, California. Hoofnagle posted their wedding photos on Instagram, with the caption saying, “big year for rings”. It was referencing their wedding and the Lombardi Trophy, both of which involve rings.
The wedding was attended by many prominent figures in the NFL. Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his wife and actress Hailee Steinfeld, who welcomed a child together recently, as well as 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey and his wife Olivia Culpo were in attendance.
The wedding event had a phone-free policy, included a live band called Modern, and guests were served with In-N-Out burgers. They are currently spending time in Hawaii and are planning a two-week honeymoon in Italy in June after the NFL’s organized team activities. Their wedding has attracted interest from many, who have shared messages for them.

One of the congratulatory messages was from Ann Michael Maye. She is popular in the NFL, being the wife of the New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye. Her husband lost the Super Bowl title to Darnold.
Ann commented a simple “Congrats!!!🤍” on the Instagram post, showing a unity among the NFL community even among rivals. The official Seahawks Instagram account also commented, “Congratulations!! 💍” Many fans also commented congratulatory messages to share their happiness for the newlywed couple.
