The Dolphins are set to meet with a dynamic wide receiver

The Miami Dolphins have a glaring hole at the wide receiver position after releasing Tyreek Hill and trading Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos. Together, Hill and Waddle were one of the most dynamic receiving duos in the NFL and in Dolphins franchise history. However, following Miami’s back-to-back losing seasons, it was time to part ways.

Hill was released primarily due to his large contract which featured a $51 million cap hit. After suffering a devastating dislocated knee injury in Week 4 of the 2025 season, it made sense to move on from the All-Pro as there is no certainty that at his age he can return to his previous form. Meanwhile, Waddle was a case where another team made an offer that was viewed by Miami’s front office as too good to pass up.

However, both decisions have left the Dolphins needing to address the receiver position this offseason. The team has already added receivers Tutu Atwell and Jalen Tolbert, neither of whom surpassed 300 receiving yards during the 2025 season. Now, a new report indicates that the Dolphins are holding a meeting with a wide receiver, who one analyst has described as the most dynamic player in this upcoming NFL draft class.

Miami Dolphins Meeting With KC Concepcion

NFL Network insider Ian Rapoport reported that the Miami Dolphins are hosting Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion as one of the team’s 30 visits ahead of the NFL Draft.

Regarding Concepcion,NFL analyst Greg Cosell said, “He’s got accelerating vertical speed. He can definitely be a factor in all three levels of defense. Some of these smaller receivers, in terms of weight, they play on the outside now in the NFL. It’s not like the guy who is 185 pounds, he can’t play on the outside. … Concepcion, to me, is arguably the most dynamic receiver in this draft class.”

A to Z Sports writer Kyle Crabbs believes Concepcion could be the perfect Jaylen Waddle replacement as he wrote:

“I believe Concepcion is the perfect Jaylen Waddle replacement — if that’s a point of emphasis for Miami this offseason as they evolve their passing game.

Concepcion is measurably larger than Waddle but brings the same electric route running ability, big-play potential, special teams value, and speed.

Knowing that the Dolphins are showing interest is a promising development. But the alignment of where Concepcion lands in the draft and where the Dolphins own picks in this year’s event are a bit at odds. The Aggies receiver is trending upward in the wide receiver projections — some analysts have him pushing towards top-20 status as the draft nears.”

Concepcion’s Draft Ranking

Due to his superior athleticism, Concepcion’s stock has risen throughout the draft process. As the draft approaches, Concepcion is currently ranked as the 29th-best prospect by NFL Network draft analyst Daniel Jeremiah.

Jeremiah wrote:

“Concepcion is an undersized receiver with elite burst and inconsistent hands. His speed jumps off the screen. You can see it right off the snap: He uses a quick jab step and then explodes down the field. He creates massive separation against quality competition. He hauls in a lot of quick-hitters (bubbles, slants and shallow crossers). His hands have been the biggest issue; he has too many concentration drops. When he does finish the catch, he is dynamic with the ball in his hands. His transition from catch to run is immediate and explosive. The teams I’ve talked to aren’t concerned about the knee scope he underwent in March. Overall, Concepcion is an intriguing player who needs to decrease his drop rate.”
