OSU’s Lane, Silchenko Sweep Big 12 Golf Weekly Awards

Story Links

Oklahoma State’s Marta Silchenko (women’s) and Gaven Lane (men’s) swept Big 12 Golfer of the Week awards after each helping the Pokes navigate tough fields to strong finishes.

Silchenko won co-medalist honors at the Huntington Bank Collegiate, helping the Cowgirls take home the team title by three strokes at Trinity Forest Golf Club. She shot 68-or-better in all three rounds at the Coore and Crenshaw-designed track in Dallas, using a bogey-free 67 in the final round to capture her first collegiate tournament victory. The team’s -25 total relative to par was the program’s best since 2021, and it marked the first time the Cowgirls swept team and individual since the 2023 Big 12 Championship.

Lane used his third top-10 finish of the year to help the Cowboys finish second at the Augusta Haskins Award Invitational with a -39 total relative to par. It marked the Cowboys’ seventh top-five finish in nine events this season. Lane had three rounds in the 60’s, while only bogeying twice in 54 holes to finish -12 and tie for seventh place.
